A Grain of Sanity on an Infinite Beach of Lunacy!

September 22, 2010

Just when you thought you would have to take your pail and shovel and shuffle on back home to pout, the sun reflects a shimmering grain of hope.

In what I would call a pronounced step of faith, the Lowell city council approved a measure to place the phrase, “In God We Trust,” in a prominent place in its City Hall. The news story reported the vote went “unanimously and with little discussion.”

Additionally “an accompanying letter from City Clerk/Treasurer Janette
Lasater says 42 cities in Arkansas have passed a similar resolution that will place the motto honoring God on city halls. And several more cities are pending.”

This is a great opportunity for the citizens in Northwest Arkansas to offer positive re-enforcement to their elected officials for taking such a bold step. Praising positive steps is a habit we all need to develop, as much as our calling to protest when we believe something is improper or misguided.
