In Support of Governor Walker

February 19, 2011

American Majority, in conjunction with local Wisconsin Tea Party leaders today held a rally on the steps of the State Capitol in Madison in support of the common sense deficit reduction plans put forth by Governor Walker. The rally marks the first major effort by tea party members to direct their power and attention toward the public employee unions whose demands are bankrupting states across the country.

“We are here today, not to be louder than the union bosses and not to shout down our opposition,” stated Ned Ryun, President of American Majority. “We are here to support common sense legislation that has been blocked by the same government greed and shortsightedness that is killing private sector jobs in this country,” he stated. Citizens concerned about the ever-increasing size of the government workforce and costs of high-end benefit programs travelled from across Wisconsin and the upper mid-west to attend the afternoon event.

Governor Walker’s proposal calls for modest contributions on the part of state workers for their pension and healthcare benefits. Presently WI state workers presently contribute nearly nothing into their public pensions. Wisconsin is facing a budget deficit of more than $3 billion. Since early last week union members have staged massive protests, forcing the shut-down of schools and other work stoppages to kill the proposal. Democrat lawmakers have fled into hiding to avoid a vote on the measure in the legislature.

“The average state and local government worker today earns nearly $40.00 an hour in wages and benefits while a private sector worker earns just $27.50. Right here, right now, America’s public pension shortfall could be as high as $34 trillion. Yet too many lawmakers refuse to take action to stop this economic crisis.”

Speakers at the event made it clear the full force of the tea party movement will act to ensure that leaders who choose to side with public employee union bosses over the public good will pay a heavy political price for their cowardice and shortsightedness.

What Walker is doing is killing American representation and pushing his agenda down the throats of the minority. Isn’t that what we were so upset with when the Democrats were doing the same?

I was amazed and heartened to see the huge Tea Party response on Saturday in Madison. This battle will be fought in every state with a budget deficit -44 including Washington D.C.

These public sector people just don’t get it. It’s all about them. Cry me a river.

    Let’s get rid of tenure
Initiate term limits for every elected office
No more collective bargaining- it’s a ball breaker

Gov. Walker: You are doing a great job and keep it up. This crazy disruption and absence of Demo. is so irresponsible and all about UNIONS-nothing else. They want to run everything same as DICTATORS. It is all about them-heck with anything else and the dumb TEACHERS can’t see past their nose.TALK ABOUT GREED WHILE ALL THE REST OF US ARE SUFFERING IN A DOWN TURN ECONOMY.THEY NEED TO PAY SOME OF THEIR WAY AND THE ONLY REASON “O BUM CRAPPER” IS STICKING HIS NOSE IN IT IS TO BE SURE HE GETS FUNDS FROM UNIONS FOR THE UP COMING CAMPAIGN. IN 2012 AND HERE IS HOPING THE EVIL DEVIL DOESN’T WIN. YOU,GOV.WALKER-NEED TO BE PRESIDENT. DON’T LET ANYONE TRAMP ON YOU OR YOUR RESPONSIBLE VIEWS.I HOPE THE TEACHERS AND DEMS,WHO DID WRONG-ALL GET PUNISHED TO THE HILT. Tyranny of the minority will not stand! If we do not defeat
these public unions we will not remain a free and prosperous nation. We must destroy the corruption of public officials by union money! Fourteen trillion dollar debt did not happen without the payment of union money. There may be blood in the streets but better to be free than live under tyranny!

Fully 88% of Americans are non unionized. Every person has the right to join or not to join a union except those in places like Wisconsin. It is time to make unions earn their members and listen to their members. No person should ever be forced to join a union.

Civil servants are vital to our country. They will not be treated poorly because they have value. But, they will no longer be protected for being lazy or incompetent like under the unions.

The unions had a time when they served the people. That time, by their own actions, has passed!

Gov Walker should stand his convictions and do what he said he would do when he ran for the office. Collective bargaining folks can skip work, have Dr’s “excuses” given to do so,en mass. The majority of Wisconites (like all other states) are at work and spoke (and will speak) at the ballot box. Tax payers have been quiet much to long for their tax dollars to pay inflated wages and benefits for collected bargaining groups. Balancing a states budget is no different than a family’s, cut out excess and try to get taxes reduced to KEEP MORE of the income you work and skimp to have.

Governor Walker has taken a courageous stand to bring long-term solvency to Wisconsin. The day of punting state budget problems down the road are over.

Scott Walker did what he said he was going to do. I don’t know any other politician that has done this in recent history. He is a man of integrity, which is more than I can say about any of the government employees I have met.
