What Are You Doing for Liberty?
April 6, 2010
In 1852, Wendel Phillips wrote that, “eternal vigilance is the price of liberty.” These words are true of any government but I believe they are a special reminder in our republic.
For many years (exactly how long is a question for another day), a significant majority of our country, and conservatives specifically, have been asleep at the wheel. We have not been vigilant and the result has been a progressive resurgence resulting in a contraction of our liberty.
In America it seems that we have a very short attention span. After all, if a deliberate, enemy attack on one of our largest cities couldn’t keep our attention for more than a few years, so how can we hope that the spectre of progressivism will be a winning issue at the ballot box?
I’ve heard a lot of talk over the last few months with people asking whether our current situation is a tipping point which will lead to America’s finest hour or an inevitable end to the great experiment our founders undertook. For myself, I believe that this question is yet to be answered. Unchecked, the progressive forces now in play will move forward with their end goal of fundamentally changing the purpose of our government. However, with the right organization and training it is possible for the conservative American majority to make a decisive stand on the principles which have made our nation great.
At American Majority we understand the realities of elections and realize that it is the people who win those elections that are going to make public policy. If we want to have a hand in those decisions then we must start winning. The trainings that we conduct across the country work toward outfitting conservatives so that they can maximize their impact on the electoral process.
Later this month we are going to host a series of Post Party Summits, designed to empower and equip conservatives as we move into the heat of this year’s election cycle. These gatherings are going to be held in seven states over a three week period of time. Below is a map of the Post Party Summit locations and you can find more information by visiting the official Post Party website.
