12,000+ Voter Registrations Inactivated in Wisconsin
October 28, 2010
Over 12,000 voter registrations have been inactivated in Wisconsin due to officials being unable to confirm the information provided by the prospective voters. These registrations came from the 777,000 names that were registered to vote in Wisconsin between January 2006 and August 2008. For the past year and a half, the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board has tried to confirm that these names were accurately registered. Of the 777,000 names, almost 10% did not even match driver’s license records and Social Security records.
After checking the names against the driver’s license records and Social Security records, the Government Accountability Board then did two rounds of mailings to those whose names did not match. More than 12,000 were returned undeliverable not just once, but twice. As a result, 12,431 names were inactivated.
These inaccurate registrations are yet another reason to download the VoterFraud App. You can download the free application at https://VoterFraudApp.com.
The matching was done in compliance with HAVA requirements. The most common reason for non-matches has been differences in names, i.e.: John Q. Adams in DMV records vs. John Quincy Adams in voter records. Failure to match, however, in itself is not a legal reason to remove someone from the active voter list. The 12,431 voters inactivated in Wisconsin had two mailings returned as undeliverable, meaning they have most likely moved, and need to re-register.
FYI, the Voter Fraud App cannot be used inside a Wisconsin polling place because state rules prohibit the use of cell phones or cameras by voters and election observers in the polling place while the polls are open.
