Training agenda:

11:00-11:30am: Intro and “Blue Wave” presentation
Are conservatives ready to fight off a “blue wave” in 2018? So far, special elections and polling numbers have triggered red flags across the country. We’ll talk a little about the background of why this is happening and, more importantly, what mindset conservatives must take in the 2018 elections.

11:30-12:30pm Messaging to the Heart
Facts and numbers don’t win elections. Emotional appeals and people-oriented reasoning does. Too often, conservatives believe that the key to winning elections is arguing for lower taxes or boasting about the GDP. In fact, what voters care most about is: does the candidate (or activist) care? Are they genuine? How will they make my life better? Learn how to talk about issues with the heart, not the head, at the forefront. Facts matter, but only after we’ve connected on a personal level.

12:30-2:00pm Social Media Strategies for Conservatives
Fake news, censorship, and an ever changing landscape: social media has taken on a controversial role in American politics, yet is still an important outlet for candidates and activists alike. Learn the strategies you need to be effective on social media in 2018, as well as new features in the wake of Facebook’s changes. Now is not the time to abandon social media. Instead, it is time to use it wisely as an outlet for the conservative message to bring in new voters and grow the movement.

2:00-2:30: Lunch

2:30-4pm: Organizing for Victory
In 2012, 5 out of every 6 dollars spent on campaigns went to broadcast, cable, and media buyers. The rest went to all other forms of voter contact combined. We know that communicating with voters on the ground is the key to earning votes at every level, so why don’t emphasize the importance of this direct voter contact on our campaigns? We’ll talk about the in-and-outs of how to construct a ground game plan for your next campaign. Recruiting volunteers, managing voter data, and executing a plan are essential to winning 2018.

4:00-5:00pm: Local Government: Understanding Boards and Commissions
Does local government matter? In our communities, conservatives often ignore local governing bodies at the peril of individual liberty. You don’t need to be elected to make a difference. Each city and county has numerous boards and commissions appoint members to make policy, advise city councils, and spend our tax dollars. You should be involved! We will walk through why this is important and what you can do to make a difference outside of the campaign world.

Training will be held in the Cabelas Conference Room at 1600 Gateway Blvd NE  Lacey, WA 98516
Cost: $25
