If you find yourself meandering through the sprawling parks of Wisconsin, soaking up Vitamin D or drinking in the tranquil landscape and fresh air, you may encounter American Majority Wisconsin Executive Director Nate Nelson.

On the weekends you can spot the avid outdoorsman fishing and hunting in the beautiful lakes and forests throughout the state. For Nate, hunting is a pastime and a way for him to bond with family and friends. “Hunting and firearms in general were something that I had grown up with… and never represented evil in any way,” he said.

In fact, it was the rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment that first peaked his interest in in politics. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Nate hit the ground running, gaining experience with grassroots organizations and campaigns such as, the National Rifle Association’s Wisconsin campaigns, Americans For Prosperity Wisconsin, and Governor Scott Walker’s County Executive Campaign. He joined American Majority in March of 2015 and lives in Oshkosh, WI with his wife and 8-year-old son.

Nate revels in traveling across the U.S. to train fellow conservatives. He especially loved trekking through the Alaskan wilderness while there for a recent American Majority training session. “It was excellent to go so far away, to train a great crop of people up there and to explore the countryside, enjoy the mountains, and check out the rivers,” he said.

Nate is excited for American Majority’s 1000th training coming up in Wisconsin on September 10th. “I think that it is great to commemorate all of the efforts that American Majority has put forth to this point.”Nate Nelson Pheasant Hunting

Nate encourages those wanting to become involved in government to stay true to themselves and be pleased with what they are accomplishing.

“Be true to your own moral standards and ideals. It’s really nice to be able to look at yourself in the mirror at the end of the day and be proud of what you’re working on,” Nate said.

So if, on your adventure through the trails of Wisconsin, you happen to come across Nate Nelson, count yourself lucky. You have just met one of our country’s patriots fighting for the conservative values you hold dear.
