The End of the Beginning

In two weeks the Tax Day TEA Parties will celebrate their one-year anniversary. As we prepare to celebrate that day and how far our conservative insurgency has come, I believe it’s critical to remember where we are in this struggle.
In the past year we have won major victories and experienced stinging defeats. We have proven our ability to protest and stand up against the baseless ad hominem attacks which the left has hurled at us. Politicians have become keenly aware of our willingness to stand up to them and call them out for their misrepresentation of their constituents. However, regardless of the victories or defeats we have seen in the past year, this battle is nowhere near over.
In the words of Winston Churchill, “This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” There is much yet for us to do. As the primary election season continues on we are being seen as an increasingly powerful force.
In his Wall Street Journal Opinion column this morning, Daniel Henninger wrote:
The tea party movement is getting the most attention because it is the most vulnerable to the standard tool kit of mockery and ridicule. It is more difficult to mock the legitimacy of Scott Brown’s overthrow of the Kennedy legacy, the election results in Virginia and New Jersey, an economic discomfort that is both generalized and specific to the disintegration of state and federal fiscs, and indeed the array of state attorneys general who filed a constitutional complaint against the new health-care law. What’s going on may be getting past the reach of mere mockery.
In order to continue our movement from punchline to powerhouse we must prove our power through influencing primary and general elections and it is critical that we begin raising up true conservative statesmen from our ranks.
Ultimately, that is why American Majority exists. Our goal is to identify and empower ordinary conservative citizens to run for political office and maximize their impact on the political system as a whole.
If you haven’t yet attended an American Majority training you need to. Our political trainings are designed to take patriots of all knowledge levels and educate them on the most effective means for them to champion limited government and individual liberty.
Check out the Post Party Summits that we are hosting, in concert with RedState, Smart Girl Politics and the Hancock Committee for the States. They will be great opportunities to come together with hundreds of fellow patriots and learn how we are going to take back this country.
