Middletown, DE Candidate & Activist

Event Date: 11th February, 2012

Our nation was founded by ordinary citizen activists desiring a government that was accountable to the people. Now at the start of a presidential election year, ordinary citizens across the U.S. are tired of the status quo and ready to engage for the betterment of their communities and their nation. They are standing up to demand accountability and responsibility from their elected officials, not only on the national level, but in their state governments, town councils, and school boards. American Majority is the leading developer of the nation’s new 21st century grassroots political infrastructure and our political training will provide the education and resources you need to meet your goals and affect your community.

As part of the New Leaders Project, American Majority will be conducting a candidate and activist training session in Middletown, Delaware on Saturday, February 11. The event will be geared toward giving grassroots activists in Delaware the resources and information that will help you effectively utilize your resources as you defend free market principles and individual liberties. Some of the topics* that will be addressed will be:

  • Campaign Plan: A campaign without a plan won’t get very far – this covers what a campaign plan should look like, what should be on it, and how detailed and flexible it should be.
  • Campaign Online: A great website is a necessity, but it only starts there – an online campaign reaches people that person-to-person contact never could, and opens up a new opportunity for fundraising. Learn what makes an online campaign effective.
  • Fundraising: The one thing every campaign needs, and can never get enough of is money. Who to ask, how to ask, how much to ask for – these are all important questions that you need to have answered before you start fundraising.
  • GOTV (Get Out the Vote): Volunteering for a campaign’s GOTV effort can have a measurable impact on the results of an election, and may even decide victory. Learn what it takes to be an effective volunteer and prepare to work for your candidate of choice.
  • Effective Organizations: This presentation serves as a how-to guide for new and growing grassroots activist groups. We’ll cover the formation and growth of a locally focused group in the following steps: vision, formation, fundraising, establishing leadership, growing membership, coalitions and partnerships, sustaining the group.

The training will be held at Frog Hollow Golf Club (1 East Whittington Way, Middletown, DE 19709) from 9:00AM-2:00PM. The registration fee of $10.00 per person includes training materials and lunch (for attendees who preregister).
